Developing strong-minded, proactive, and responsible youth who grow to be lifelong learners

About 100 Black Men of Austin

We are the 100 Black Men of Austin, Inc.—a nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life in our community and enhancing educational and economic opportunities for African Americans and minorities.

Founded as part of the national network of 100 Black Men of America, our mission is to empower youth and families through mentorship, education, economic empowerment, health and wellness, and leadership development. We believe in the principle that “What They See Is What They Will Be,” inspiring the next generation by providing role models and resources.

Our programs cater specifically to the needs of underserved communities in the greater Austin area, addressing critical issues through initiatives like the Black Men Read Initiative, which promotes literacy, and our Cultural Competency Initiative, enhancing understanding and engagement among diverse groups.

We actively engage members in impactful community service, requiring participation in at least four initiatives per year to maintain an active status. This ensures that our members are not just supporters but active agents of change.

Additionally, we offer various educational programs, workshops, and events that foster personal and professional growth, all aimed at building a stronger, more vibrant community.

If you’re interested in making a difference, we invite you to join us in our mission—whether through membership, volunteering, or donations. Together, we can create lasting change and empower future leaders in Austin.

Thank you!
